Additionally, we’re seeing more clients wanting to use sports as a gateway into larger partnership opportunities with universities. Clients recognize that engagement breeds loyalty and the traditional sponsorship offering is the baseline of engagement. The on-going trend we’re seeing is a desire for deeper consumer engagement. They are every marketer’s dream and major brands want a piece of that loyalty. On trends: College sports fans are typically well educated, diverse, affluent and loyalists. All In.” This industry is constantly changing, but we have to be “all in” with our dedication to growing the business. On Turner: My takeaways about the industry can be easily summed up by the corporate culture motto Turner recently adopted – “More Fun. Also, I’ll work to elevate the scope and scale of Learfield’s brand awareness across the sports industry, as a whole not just in collegiate sports. In this newly created position, I will provide leadership and strategy for the marketing operation that will help to drive sales growth. On goals: Ultimately, my goal is to develop a best-in-class, client focused, integrated marketing team for the company. There’s a familial culture within this place that’s unlike any organization I’ve worked for. But most of all, I joined Learfield because of the wonderful people whom I now work alongside every day. Learfield also afforded me the opportunity to complete the coveted “media trinity” of marketing experience in news, sports and entertainment. I was intrigued by the opportunity to work for a growing company where I can make a real impact on the legacy of a pioneer brand. Taylor on college sports: College sports are at an all-time high and Learfield is at its tipping point with respect to the tremendous expansion the organization has seen within the past few years and the growth that’s in our future. Taylor will now oversee marketing, graphics, research, client insights and ideation, events and training, and work with the company’s sales and digital teams in development of new social and mobile concepts for its client base as the company continues to expand its portfolio.Ĭynopsis Sports asked Taylor about her jump from Turner Broadcasting, marketing college sports and corporate culture as she takes over the role. URSULA BURTON (Writer, Director / Bride). Where obviously you need to create otheraccount and make sure it has the privileges that are required for performing this particular task. Ideally, you might want to make sure that my_prog runs on a dedicated unprivileged system account then, the syntax would be su otheraccount -c /path/my_prog Running a shell makes sense when you actually require shell features such as wildcard expansion, redirection, etc, or shell builtins like cd. Sh -c "command" is just an inefficient way to run command. #SU VS SUDO PASSWORD#Sudo makes sense if you are running on an unprivileged account, and have been granted the rights to switch to another account (often, but not always, root), usually with the requirement to be able to interactively supply your password (though this can be turned off if you really have to obviously, you need to understand what you are doing before you mess with security-related stuff). Su makes sense if you are root and want to switch to a different account. The correct answer is to simply run your command. echo "root:newword1" | chpasswdĪctually this is looking more like the shadow file. You don't need any of them rc.local runs with root privileges. (if on the command line to avoid adding to history put a space first). There are many ways but this is simplest. use rsync over SSH etc.įinal note is if you want to generate the password file shadow encrypted string in an automated shell etc try this link for more. If FTP is not as secure maybe don't use it anyway. Gelöst hast du das Problem, aber wahrscheinlich noch nicht verstanden. Only thing different from way back is you can't SSH directly to root. habe mal spasseshalber einen neuen user erstellt und der konnte nicht mit dem sudo das su passwort ändern.also problem gelöst. Therefore, it is much safer to use sudo since it doesn't include exchanging sensitive information. The main difference between the two is that su requires the password of the target account, while sudo requires the password of the current user. MasterJames Lesson of the day and every day for many things is: old school was always better, changing perfection is normal but it doesn't make it right. Both su and sudo elevate privileges assigned to the current user. Yes you can still su from the ssh login user after removal from the group. Actually to this point it may still be untrue since man crypt shows 'By taking the lowest 7 bits of each of the first eight characters of the key, a 56-bit key is obtained.' may still only use the first 8 chars anyway, my tests say otherwise so maybe that's another good question about password lengths. If you also double up the length of the passwords (for both accounts) other then an obvious guessable plain doubling so say 16 characters then it's pretty secure. (obviously you would preferable not need to prefix with sudo since you su'ed to root). This is probably the cleanest safest feeling way to do it meaning remove a user from the group sudo. #SU VS SUDO FULL#You will see this difference in the prompt path not having changed to the tilde (aka user's home directory) vs full /home/user path of the user that just su'ed so probably less desirable then sudo su or sudo -s anyway.Īctually root still cant use SSH to login directly by default anyway so it is added security if you eventually disable the original login account from sudoers. It is added security to have a different user that has access then the hacker has to guess the username as well as a password, but you can add back root, and disable the sudoers for the still unknown account, which would be more secure with double passwords and an unknown username.Īnd to disable or lock root again passwd -l root #SU VS SUDO INSTALL#Even though it appears sa for system administrator is no longer included in the ubuntu variant by default (apt install acct), so I guess I mean logically.Īctually I guess I am showing my age with 'sa' but never used it because at the time 'su' was a more direct approach.ĭoing 'su' directly is not possible as you need the root password but the account is disabled by default. Similar to the outer and middle markers, a inner marker located at the beginning (threshold) of the runway on some ILS approach systems (usually Category II and III) having decision heights of less than 200 feet (60 m) AGL. If this facility were a locator middle marker (LMM) its identifier would be the last two letters, TH. For example, at New York's JFK runway 31R the ILS identifier is I-RTH and the LOM ident is RT. LOMs use the first two letters of the parent ILS's identification. #White out marker code#In the U.S., LOMs are identified by two-letter Morse code modulated at 1020 Hz. Some countries, such as Canada, have abandoned marker beacons completely, replacing the outer marker with a NDB and, more recently, with GPS fixes. The LOM is becoming less important now that GPS navigation is well established in the aviation community. Aircraft can navigate directly to the location using the NDB as well as be alerted when they fly over it by the beacon. An LOM is a navigation aid used as part of an instrument landing system (ILS) instrument approach for aircraft. In the United States, the outer marker has often been combined with a non-directional beacon (NDB) to make a locator outer marker ( LOM). #White out marker series#The system gives the pilot a visual (blinking blue outer marker light) and aural (continuous series of audio tone morse code-like 'dashes') indication. The valid signal area is a 2,400 ft (730 m) × 4,200 ft (1,280 m) ellipse (as measured 1,000 ft (300 m) above the antenna.) When the aircraft passes over the outer marker antenna, its marker beacon receiver detects the signal. Its antenna is highly directional, and is pointed straight up. It is typically located about 1 NM (1.85 km) inside the point where the glideslope intercepts the intermediate altitude and transmits a 400 Hz tone signal on a low-powered (3 watts), 75 MHz carrier signal. The outer marker, which normally identifies the final approach fix (FAF), is situated on the same course/track as the localizer and the runway center-line, four to seven nautical miles before the runway threshold. The only complaint is that the color wasn’t hyper-opaque. The ink flowed well and it was easy for my daughter to use. It’s perfect if you’re looking for something broad and thick. It’s easy to write with the color is opaque. Not as bright as the Recollections pen (below), but it works. This pen has to be primed by pumping the nib and up and down, to get it going. With the ball-point system, the ink came out in chunks and wasn’t smooth at all. This was our least favorite of the group. It also writes like a regular pen, meaning that it’s not bulky like a paint pen. The ink runs consistently and it’s thick and opaque. There’s a reason this pen gets 5-stars on Amazon. Since doing this test I have since ordered three more, and frequently travel with one in my bag. I brought my 4-year old into the decision-making process since she’s the one who actively uses the table as her own personal scribble zone. Sakura Pen-Touch 1 mm Fine Point (Amazon) Recollections Signature Broad (Michael’s Craft Store) This prompted to me to do a little digging to find the best white pen for black paper.Ĭraftsmart White Paint Pen (Michael’s Craft Store) It turns out that not all white pens are created the equal. Unfortunately, these pens didn’t cover the paper well and one skipped spots as I wrote. Check out White Drawings on Black Paper to see the drawing prompt that kicked off our search for the best white pens.Īfter a few false starts with pens that faded against the bold black backdrop, I picked up some white pens at the local craft store. With the tables covered, we were itching to draw on it with opaque pens, and white ones in particular. It’s heavier than wrapping paper and thinner than Kraft paper, so it does a nice job covering the table without being too difficult to secure with tape. At least it was for me, and I wanted to spare you the hours and expense of trying and testing a ton of pens that might prove disappointing.Ī few months ago we invested in a big roll of black paper to cover our art tables. However, finding a good white pen that will show up on black paper can be a challenge. In our traditional black on white world of mark-making we’re accustomed to putting dark marks on white paper, and perhaps it’s the tonal reversal that’s compelling and unique about white on black drawings. Writing and drawing with white pens on black paper is a fun way to add some pizzaz to a drawing practice.
